MLA inspects kitchen foundation stone arrangements at SM Peta

Kodad MLA Padmavathi Reddy on Tuesday inspected arrangements for the foundation stone laying programme of a modern centralised kitchen to be built at Rs 9.60 crore at SM Peta in Munagala mandal of Kodad constituency, Suryapet district. She discussed with local leaders the steps needed to conduct the programme successfully. The MLA also reviewed the progress of the kitchen construction works. Local leaders and senior Congress party leaders participated in the programme.

BJP to fight for graduates' issues, says leader Rukma Rao

The graduates' MLC election in the combined Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal districts is not an ordinary election but will decide who speaks for graduates in the Legislative Council, BJP state executive member Rukma Rao said. DRI seizes gold worth Rs 1.20 crore at Shamshabad airport

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials seized 800 grams of gold jewellery worth about Rs 1.20 crore at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, Hyderabad. According to officials, a Hyderabad-based jewellery trader was travelling by air from Tiruchirappalli to Hyderabad. Acting on prior specific intelligence that he was moving gold illegally, officers stopped and searched him, finding the jewellery in his baggage. He was taken into custody for testing and valuation. A case has been registered and DRI is investigating the gold's origin and whether others were involved.

Tipper carrying black soil seized in Hathnoora, Sangareddy

Hathnoora police seized a tipper allegedly transporting black soil illegally in Hathnoora mandal of Sangareddy district. Khammam collector invites graduates' MLC voter registration applications

Khammam District Collector Divakara TS said in a statement on Tuesday that a fresh voters list is being prepared for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' constituency on Election Commission of India directions. Forest officials seize 14 wild boars, vehicle in Nirmal district

Forest department officials foiled the illegal transport of wild boars in Telangana's Nirmal district. Bhainsa range officials chased a vehicle from Basara and intercepted it near Navipet, recovering 14 wild boars being moved illegally. Three men in the vehicle abandoned it on the spot and fled on noticing the officials. Officials suspect the animals were being brought from Nanded. The vehicle and the 14 boars were seized and an investigation has begun. A search for the three absconders is continuing.

October 9 final deadline for Indiramma flat payments: TGHB

The Telangana Housing Board said beneficiaries of the Indiramma affordable housing scheme in 16 assembly constituencies under the Hyderabad Core Urban Region have only until the evening of October 9 to pay the Rs 1 lakh first instalment. Of 5,501 provisional allottees selected by lottery, 3,271 (59.46%) have paid. Kukatpally leads with 81.05% and Khairatabad is lowest at 17.16%. Vice-chairman V.P. Gautham said allotments will be cancelled after the deadline. About 35,000 applicants are waitlisted.

Rangareddy DMHO caught by ACB over Rs 2 lakh bribe demand

Rangareddy district medical and health officer Dr B. Swarnakumari was caught by ACB officials in a case of demanding a Rs 2 lakh bribe. ACB City Range-2 officials said the bribe was sought to return the keys of a sealed physiotherapy centre, avoid further action and issue a new licence. The money was seized from private driver Madduri Krishnaiah while he was accepting the first instalment of Rs 1 lakh. Health inspector M. Srinivas and Krishnaiah were taken into custody. The investigation is continuing.

Police seize 500 ganja plants worth Rs 50 lakh in Asifabad

Checks conducted over three days in the district led to the seizure of 500 ganja plants worth Rs 50 lakh, SP Nitika Pant said on Monday. The operations were carried out under DSP B. Land survey to be completed in 18 months: Minister Ponguleti

Ananthagiri Ghat Road bus accident: driver arrested, remanded

Four people died and several were injured when a private travels bus went out of control and overturned on Ananthagiri Ghat Road near Kerelli village in Vikarabad district on 03.10.2026. Police said the injured were shifted to hospitals. During investigation, bus driver Palthya Vasudev alias Vasu (30), of Sangamesh Thanda, Regode mandal, Medak district, was held responsible, arrested on 05.10.2026 and sent to judicial remand by a court. Dharur Circle Inspector Ch. Raghuramulu said the probe into the causes continues.
