Srilatha, Ramesh drank alcohol daily and quarrelled with and harassed family members. After another quarrel on Monday night, his wife Sumalatha and son Nikhil attacked him, and he died on the spot of serious injuries. Both later surrendered at the police station. Ramesh married Sumalatha in 2006 and they have two daughters and a son. Police conducted a panchanama, shifted the body to a government hospital, registered a case and are investigating.
A man was killed at Gattu Duddenapalli in Manakondur mandal of Telangana's Karimnagar district. According to police, Tappa Ramesh (42), a resident of the village, worked as an auto driver and had been quarrelling with his wife Sumalatha over family disputes. After another quarrel past midnight on Monday, their son struck Ramesh on the head with a stick and Sumalatha then hit him with a brick. He died of severe injuries. Both surrendered at Manakondur police station. CI Srilatham and SI Tirupati shifted the body to a government hospital for post-mortem.
Giravena Shyam of Korapalli village in Jammikunta mandal of Karimnagar district was seriously injured in a road accident near FCI in Jammikunta town and died recently while undergoing hospital treatment. PMK Foundation founder Palle Prabhakar Goud conveyed condolences to the family. On his instructions, foundation organisers handed over Rs 10,000 in financial aid to the deceased's family at Korapalli. They said they would continue to support the family. Palle Ravi Goud, Mogu Debba Goudu and association president Ranjit Goud participated.
An Omni van lost control on the Karimnagar-Warangal national highway, ran into a crop field and overturned, injuring the driver and eight others. The accident occurred on Sunday on the newly built highway on the outskirts of Peddapapayyapalli village in Huzurabad mandal. Labourers from the Kotthuru Jenda area of Hanumakonda district were travelling towards Karimnagar for work when a tyre burst, according to information available. 108 staff shifted the injured to Huzurabad government hospital; five in critical condition were moved to Warangal.
BJP national general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar is contesting the Karimnagar assembly constituency in the Telangana elections 2023. Gangula Kamalakar is the BRS candidate for the seat, while the Congress candidate is yet to be announced. Sanjay, who began his political career as a councillor, lost the 2018 assembly election to Kamalakar by 14,974 votes. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls he defeated BRS candidate B. Vinod Kumar by a margin of 89,508 votes.
Police have arrested Mahesh in a murder case in Ankushapur village of Jammikunta mandal, Karimnagar district. According to Huzurabad ACP Madhavi, Mahesh had an illicit relationship with a woman, and the deceased, Mogili, had earlier been jailed after a complaint by them. After his release Mogili continued to insult them, following which Mahesh watched YouTube videos, planned the killing and struck Mogili on the head with an iron rod. The rod, phone and bike were seized.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the silver jubilee celebrations of Prathima Medical College in Karimnagar on the 4th of this month, marking 25 years since the college began. He will lay the foundation stone for the Prathima Deemed University building, unveil a pylon, open a photo exhibition and address a students' meeting. Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar inspected arrangements. Shah reaches Begumpet at 9 pm on the 3rd and Karimnagar at 2 pm on the 4th via Thoopran in Medak district.
A boy was found walking alone on the Karimnagar-Hyderabad Rajiv Rahadari near Renikunta toll plaza in Thimmapur mandal on Wednesday evening. Locals and toll staff noticed him and asked for his name and village, but he did not respond even when asked again later. They then informed LMD police, who took charge of the boy. SI Anwar said the boy would be handed over to district child welfare officials, and asked anyone with information to call 8712670770.
The new collectorate building in Karimnagar has been readied for inauguration, with the event to be performed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, according to the Surya correspondent. The building has been decorated with flower garlands, marigolds and electric lights, and arrangements are complete for unveiling a Telangana Talli statue in front of it. District Collector Chitra Mishra personally supervised the stage, decoration, security, parking and protocol arrangements until night. The building has modern facilities.
A mega job mela will be held on November 3 at the TNGOs Function Hall in Karimnagar, Vaishnavi Technologies chairman Kodityala Srikanth said. Around 100 companies will take part, with a target of about 5,000 jobs in IT, banking, marketing and technical manufacturing. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will tour the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Wednesday, with the schedule released on Tuesday evening by his personal secretary Narmala Srinivas. He reaches Karimnagar at 3 pm and receives a police guard of honour between 3.10 and 3.40 pm. He will unveil a Telangana Talli statue, inaugurate the new collectorate building and lay foundation stones for development works. At 4.45 pm he reaches Sircilla, walks from Ambedkar Circle at 5 pm and addresses a public meeting.
District authorities are putting security arrangements in place ahead of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's visit on the 30th of this month to inaugurate Karimnagar's new collectorate. On Monday, Collector Chitra Mishra, Police Commissioner Gaush Alam and CM security officials inspected the helipad, Telangana Talli statue, new building and conference hall surroundings. The review covered bandobast, the CM's convoy route, traffic control, parking, emergency medical services, fire safety and protocol. Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai, Additional Collector Srinivas Reddy, RDO Sharmila, SP Ramachander Rao and DSPs Raghuchander and Shyam attended.
The 'Satavahana Grameena Santa' opened on Monday at Revenue Gardens in Karimnagar, with the stated aims of promoting indigenous products, protecting the environment and safeguarding health. Organised by Grama Bharati, the exhibition has 40 stalls, with handloom fabrics, organic food items, clay pots, handicrafts and herbal health products among the main attractions. Chief guest Pendyala Keshava Reddy and neurologist Dr Vikram Singh Thakur said patronising indigenous products would generate employment for local artisans and rural craftspeople. They urged promotion of eco-friendly products for a plastic-free society.
Ahead of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's visit on the 30th of this month to inaugurate the newly built collectorate building in Karimnagar, Collector Chitra Mishra directed officials to complete arrangements that stand as a model for the state. She held a review with CP Gaus Alam on Saturday, asking that VIPs, ministers, MLAs and public representatives face no inconvenience and that sanitation, drinking water, power, parking, mic system and press gallery work be coordinated. Additional Collectors Ashwini Tanaji Wakade and Srinivas Reddy, Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai, DRO Swamy and RDOs Sharmila and Jala Kumari attended.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Srihari unveiled a statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar in the premises of the Karimnagar RTC bus stand. MLAs Medipalli Satyam and Kavampalli Satyanarayana, Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, former MLA Arepalli Mohan, the district collector, the police commissioner and RTC officials took part. Ponnam Prabhakar said a proposal made 13 years ago to name the bus stand after Ambedkar had now been fulfilled. The leaders later paid floral tributes on Chakali Ailamma's birth anniversary.
