Hathnoora police seized a tipper allegedly transporting black soil illegally in Hathnoora mandal of Sangareddy district. The vehicle was taken into custody and shifted to the Hathnoora police station, where officers are examining permits and documents related to the soil transport. Police said legal action would follow if rule violations were confirmed, and that surveillance on illegal transport would continue. Residents were advised to inform officials about unpermitted digging or transport. Experts say deep excavation can affect soil fertility and groundwater recharge.
Two people died on the spot when a truck hit a passenger auto near Mamidigi in Nyalkal mandal of Telangana's Sangareddy district. The dead are Kamala (40), an anganwadi teacher from Vaddi village, and Ambyanayak (55) of Bhojyanayak Thanda. Five others suffered serious injuries and were shifted to hospitals in Zaheerabad and Bidar. Police registered a case and began an investigation, and the bodies were sent to a government hospital for post-mortem. Police cautioned against overspeeding at blind curves.
Telangana Panchayati Raj Chamber state president Satyanarayana Reddy called for strengthening gram panchayats. He spoke at an awareness meeting of sarpanches of the erstwhile Medak district held in Sangareddy town. He said newly formed panchayats should be provided their own buildings and their revenue limits fixed, and sought road facilities for tanda panchayats and Madhira villages. He also asked the state government to allocate funds matching central releases. Chamber state secretary Mandipal Venkat, vice-president Ashorrao and sarpanches attended.
Narayankhed MLA Bhupal Reddy raised in the Assembly on Saturday the demand to make Tadkal village in Kangti mandal a separate mandal. He said the related survey file had been sent to the government and that he had requested Chief Minister KCR to sanction it as per people's demand. He said Narayankhed was made a revenue division and three mandals formed in the constituency under decentralisation. Minister Srinivas Goud assured the issue would be taken to the CM. He also sought Peddashankarampet's merger into Sangareddy district.
The 131st birth anniversary of Chakali Ailamma was observed in Narayankhed town of Sangareddy district. MLA Pattolla Sanjeeva Reddy garlanded her statue and paid tribute. He said Ailamma's services in the armed peasant struggle waged for land and livelihood were unforgettable. The MLA said the Congress government honours the services of Telangana's women fighters and that Koti Women's College in Hyderabad has been named after Ailamma. Municipal Chairman Nagesh Kumar Shetkar said she fought against landlords.
An IT employee in Patancheru, Sangareddy district, lost Rs 54 lakh to cyber fraudsters. According to police, the fraudsters sent a message on Telegram on the 15th of last month, offering a commission for rating branded products. After the victim invested Rs 5,000, they transferred Rs 12,000 in return. Believing the scheme to be genuine, she invested Rs 54 lakh in instalments. Patancheru police have registered a case and are investigating, and advised the public to stay cautious.
Flood inflow is continuing into the Baga Reddy Singur project in Pulkal mandal of Sangareddy district. Rain around Zaheerabad, Manoor and Jharasangam brought 2 TMC in three days and another three TMC may arrive, project AE Mahipal Reddy said. Against a capacity of 29.917 TMC, storage stands at 18.903 TMC, with inflow of 22,036 cusecs and outflow of 391 cusecs. Visitors are barred. A canal breached at Isojipet will be repaired in four days, AE Mahesh said.
