Leopard pugmarks found in Palsi village of Nirmal district

The movement of a leopard has caused alarm in Palsi village of Kubeer mandal in Nirmal district. On Tuesday, farmer Tavuti Ramulu spotted animal pugmarks in his agricultural field and immediately informed forest department officials. Officials Shivakumar and Shivaprasad reached the spot, inspected the marks and confirmed they were leopard pugmarks. Panic has since spread in the village. Officials advised farmers and residents to stay alert and not to enter fields alone.

Forest officials seize 14 wild boars, vehicle in Nirmal district

Forest department officials foiled the illegal transport of wild boars in Telangana's Nirmal district. Bhainsa range officials chased a vehicle from Basara and intercepted it near Navipet, recovering 14 wild boars being moved illegally. Three men in the vehicle abandoned it on the spot and fled on noticing the officials. Officials suspect the animals were being brought from Nanded. The vehicle and the 14 boars were seized and an investigation has begun. A search for the three absconders is continuing.

Land survey to be completed in 18 months: Minister Ponguleti

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said steps are being taken to complete the land survey in every village within one and a half years, with a Bhudhaar number allotted to each land parcel. He reviewed land issues with collectors and officials of the erstwhile Adilabad districts at Nirmal on Monday, along with in-charge Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. He said the last survey was held 125 years ago and disputes persist, and directed transparent surveys and coordination between revenue and forest departments in tribal areas. He said the goal is Indiramma houses for all eligible poor, making Telangana hut-free.

Ministers review revenue, housing departments in Nirmal

State Revenue, Information and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Excise and Culture Minister and district in-charge Jupally Krishna Rao held a review at the Nirmal collectorate on Monday. A free mega medical camp was held at Kadem mandal headquarters in Nirmal district under the aegis of Swapna Multi Super Speciality Hospital. Experienced doctors conducted free tests including ECG, 2D Echo and various advanced orthopedic examinations, and offered medical advice to patients. Cordon search in Bhainsa; 80 two-wheelers seized

Police conducted a cordon and search operation in the Kunta area of Bhainsa town on Wednesday morning. Additional SP Kiran Prabhakar Kare said the exercise aimed to curb anti-social activities and make towns and villages crime-free. About 80 two-wheelers, nine three-wheelers and two cars without proper documents were seized, along with banned gutka and seven cheap liquor bottles. He warned that those without masks in public face action under Sections 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act and IPC 188. CIs, SIs and about 150 constables participated.

Nirmal Collector orders rise in normal deliveries at MCH hospital

District Collector Bhavesh Mishra has directed medical officers to increase the number of normal deliveries at the government Maternal and Child Health hospital. Farmers staged a dharna and rasta roko on National Highway 61 at New Sangvi in Mamada mandal of Telangana's Nirmal district, demanding immediate procurement of their paddy and supply of sufficient gunny bags. They raised slogans against the government. The farmers said the grain brought for sale had remained unpurchased for a week and sought immediate procurement as rain was likely. Farmers trained on redgram seed production at Eggam

Scientists Rahul and Dinesh of Professor Jayashankar Rao University inspected a redgram crop grown on six acres at Eggam village in Bhainsa mandal of Nirmal district under PACS Mirzapur. They said their aim is to supply better quality seeds to farmers. Kandi One and WRGE 97 varieties are being raised for seed production under the Agricultural Research Institute, Warangal. Restrictions at Basara IIIT as police arrest ABVP activists

Tension prevailed at Basara in Nirmal district after the state ABVP called for a siege of the IIIT, with activists arriving from various areas. Police imposed restrictions within two kilometres of the institute and blocked media personnel, sending them back, saying the district SP had directed that media not be allowed near the IIIT. Activists arrested near the temple, railway station, bus stand and Bidrelli were shifted to Mudhole police station. Ganesh immersion held at Nirmal SP camp office

The immersion ceremony for the Ganesh idol installed at the SP camp office in Nirmal district headquarters was held on Friday. District SP Dr Janaki Sharmila performed special pujas, with police officers taking part. She called for the immersion to be observed in a peaceful atmosphere and said the police department had taken all measures to ensure law and order was not disturbed. Organisers and procession participants were asked to follow police rules, ignore social media rumours and report suspicious activity.
