Minister distributes Rs 1.02 crore cheques to 216 beneficiaries in Khammam

State Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the people's government's aim is to deliver welfare and development benefits to every doorstep. On Sunday, at his residence near Sri Sri Circle in Khammam, he distributed cheques worth Rs 1,02,51,000 to 216 beneficiaries from Khammam Rural and Yedulapuram municipality areas. Of these, 51 beneficiaries in Khammam Rural mandal received Kalyana Lakshmi cheques, while 70 in Yedulapuram municipality and 95 in Khammam Rural mandal got CMRF cheques. He said the government stands by every poor family in distress.

BJP to fight for graduates' issues, says leader Rukma Rao

The graduates' MLC election in the combined Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal districts is not an ordinary election but will decide who speaks for graduates in the Legislative Council, BJP state executive member Rukma Rao said. He was chief guest at a district workshop held Friday at the BJP Khammam district office, chaired by district president Nelluri Koteswara Rao. He said recruitment, filling of vacancies, exam transparency and skill training must be raised continuously, and urged every eligible graduate to register as a voter.

Khammam collector invites graduates' MLC voter registration applications

Khammam District Collector Divakara TS said in a statement on Tuesday that a fresh voters list is being prepared for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' constituency on Election Commission of India directions. Those who graduated by October 31, 2023 are eligible, with November 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. The exercise follows a Legislative Council vacancy in March 2027. Form-18 can be filed online or with the AERO; the last date is November 6. The draft roll will be published November 25 and the final roll December 30.

Khammam Collector sets 99% Class 10 pass target

Khammam District Collector Divakara TS directed education officials to work towards a 99% pass rate in Class 10. He held a review on Monday at the collectorate along with Additional Collector Dr P. Sreeja. Special classes should begin after Diwali, with attention to lagging students, he said. FLN competencies must reach at least 80%, and inflated or false reports would not be tolerated. Six students fall ill after suspected food poisoning in Khammam

Six students fell ill due to suspected food poisoning at Uppalchiluka UPS in Penuballi mandal of Khammam district on Wednesday. The school served upma with groundnut chutney in the morning and rice with sambar at 12 noon. Soon after, Sravanthika, Manoj Kumar, Naveen, Shiva Kesava, Lakshminarayana and Udayasri suffered vomiting and stomach pain. Teachers shifted them by auto to Penuballi area hospital. Lanka Sagar PHC medical officer Kiran said their condition is stable. MEO Mohan Rao has begun an inquiry.

CM Revanth to launch Rs 362 crore works in Khammam on 18th

Lorry hits bike in Edulapuram, mechanic killed

A road accident took place on Friday within the limits of Edulapuram municipality in Khammam district. A lorry hit a bike near Belief Hospital on the bypass road, and the man riding the bike died on the spot. Police identified the deceased as Gopi of Namavaram village, who is said to have worked as a mechanic at a local showroom. Eyewitnesses said the lorry came at speed from the Naidupet side as he was crossing a U-turn. Police registered a case and began an investigation.

A mass annadanam was organised on Wednesday at the Ganapathi mandapam set up for Vinayaka Navaratri celebrations at Karepalli Cross Road (Ramalingapuram) in Singareni mandal of Khammam district.
