Shree Cement proposes Rs 7,107 crore plant at Jammalamadugu

Kolkata-based Shree Cement Limited has expressed interest in setting up an integrated cement plant at Jammalamadugu in YSR Kadapa district with an investment of Rs 7,107 crore. It proposed investing in two phases, creating 1,102 jobs, and sought 452 acres for a unit producing 6 million tonnes annually. The firm already holds limestone mines over 373 hectares near Dommaranandyala. SIPC, meeting Monday under Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, discussed proposals worth Rs 23,994 crore and 11,289 jobs, deciding to send them to SIPB.

APSRTC officials hold talks with unions, 30 demands submitted

APSRTC management and leaders of the Joint Action Committee (Aikasa) met at RTC House in Vijayawada. Executive Director (Admin) Brahmanandareddy, ED (Engineering) Varma and ED (Operations) Nageswara Rao attended. The unions sought that procurement and maintenance of electric buses be carried out entirely by APSRTC, that the number of buses for the 'Stree Shakti' scheme be increased, and that vacant posts be filled immediately. Around 30 demands were submitted. Officials said the discussions would be reported to the Special Chief Secretary and RTC Managing Director.

BDL to build Rs 1,200 crore missile unit at Donakonda

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) will set up an integrated weapon systems and propellant manufacturing unit at Donakonda in Prakasam district with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore — Rs 650 crore in the first phase and Rs 550 crore in the second. It will create 600 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs, with a township on 200 acres proposed for 600 families. The project needs 1,400 acres; the government will allot 317 acres at Rs 7.73 lakh per acre. Hyderabad Metro stake transfer deadline extended to December 31

L&T has said the deadline to complete the transfer of its stake in the first phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail to the Telangana government has been extended to December 31, citing financial, structural and regulatory factors. Hyderabad to be developed as gaming, animation hub: Chief Secretary

AM Green to export green ammonia from Kakinada to Germany

Hyderabad-based AM Green Ammonia has won the Asia segment of the German government-backed H2Global auction, signing a ten-year contract to supply renewable ammonia worth at least Rs 5,500 crore. Hintco, H2Global's trading arm, will purchase the output. AM Green is converting a natural gas-based ammonia and urea complex at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh into a green ammonia plant compliant with European Union rules. The company said first supplies to Germany begin in 2029, shipped through Kakinada Port.

Godrej Properties buys KPHB land at Rs 70 crore per acre

The Housing Board last month issued a notification to sell 7.8 acres of government land at KPHB in Hyderabad, fixing a floor price of Rs 40 crore per acre. Onion prices rise to Rs 70-80 a kg in Hyderabad

Onion prices have risen in Hyderabad, with a kilogram now selling at Rs 70 to Rs 80, up from Rs 50 a week ago. Two months ago the rate was Rs 20 a kg, a threefold increase. Traders said onion is quoted at Rs 5,200-5,500 a quintal at the Malakpet agricultural market. They said arrivals are coming only from Maharashtra, with daily sales of 5,200-6,000 quintals, and attributed the rise to lower yields due to deficient rainfall and higher demand.
