Daddala Narayana Yadav felicitated after completing ZPTC term

YSR Congress Party Kanigiri constituency incharge Dr Daddala Narayana Yadav was felicitated at the district party office in Ongole on completing his term as ZPTC of Hanumanthunipadu mandal in Kanigiri constituency. Rajya Sabha member and former TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, regional co-ordinator Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Prakasam district party president and Darsi MLA Dr Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy and Ongole parliament incharge Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy presented him a shawl, garland and shield. Couple arrested over Rs 13 crore overseas job fraud in Vijayawada

Police have arrested Musunuri Srinivas and Soujanya, a couple from Paiduruapdu near Vijayawada, for allegedly collecting over Rs 13 crore from hundreds of job seekers by promising jobs in the Netherlands, Ireland, Luxembourg and Finland. Running consultancies named Flying Borders, they advertised on YouTube and Instagram and held fake online interviews, charging Rs 8 lakh to Rs 13 lakh each. Police cite Rs 11 crore from 700 victims in Vijayawada and Rs 2.2 crore from 130 in Visakhapatnam.

Election police observer Digambar Pradhan arrives in Srikakulam district

Senior IPS officer Digambar P. Pradhan from Maharashtra arrived in Srikakulam on Thursday as district police observer for the general elections. SP G.R. Radhika met him at the police office guest house, presented a bouquet and discussed police-related election matters. He will act as police observer for Srikakulam, Amadalavalasa, Narasannapeta, Pathapatnam, Tekkali, Palasa and Ichchapuram constituencies. Chandrababu to inaugurate Veligonda project on August 31

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced on X that the Veligonda project, a three-decade aspiration of people in western undivided Prakasam district, will be inaugurated on August 31. At the Markapuram event, 10.7 TMC of Krishna water will be released into Nallamala Sagar. He recalled laying the foundation stone on March 5, 1996 as united Andhra Pradesh CM. Phase-1 will irrigate 1.19 lakh acres and Phase-2 another 3.28 lakh acres, he said, promising a permanent solution to fluoride problems in western Prakasam.

Pandanna named AICC West Godavari district president

The Association of Integrity Christian Council (AICC) has appointed Reverend Kakarla Rajendra Prasad (Pandanna) of Tanuku as its West Godavari district president and Kreestudasu as district secretary. Chittoor mango growers adopt top working to change varieties

Mango farmers in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district are using top working, a grafting method that produces new varieties on old trees. Branches are cut at four feet, and shoots collected from a mother plant are grafted on. Fruit is harvested from the second year. In a 30-year-old orchard with 50 trees an acre, 20 grafts per tree means 1,000 grafts at Rs 5 each, or Rs 5,000. Horticulture AD Dr Koteswara Rao said ten varieties can be grown on one tree.

Gold, silver, cash stolen from house in Narasaraopet

Thieves broke the locks of a house in Prakash Nagar, Narasaraopet town of Palnadu district, and took away 100 sovereigns of gold, one kilogram of silver and Rs 45,000 in cash. Victims Gadiparti Subbarao and Bharathi Devi had gone to their daughter's house at Ganapavaram in Nadendla mandal on the 4th of this month. On returning Sunday afternoon, they found the locks broken and the almirah open. One Town police were informed. CI Firoz inspected the house and a clues team collected samples. A case has been registered and investigation is on, the CI said.

Police recover 25% of online trading fraud money in Mangalagiri

Cyber fraudsters promising profits in online trading made a Mangalagiri resident transfer lakhs of rupees in instalments to accounts they specified. When he was told to deposit more money to withdraw the shown profits, he realised the fraud and complained immediately. Police froze the accounts and recovered 25% of the amount. The receiving account belonged to a laundry worker in Karnataka whose details a person from Odisha obtained for a payment. Police advised complaints to 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.

Two labourers killed in East Godavari road accident

Two labourers were killed in a road accident on a national highway near Yernagudem in Devarapalli mandal of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, in the early hours of the morning. An unidentified vehicle hit the tractor in which the labourers were travelling from behind, killing Srinu (39) and Kadali Rajendra (32), both from Devarapalli village, on the spot. Drinking water at Vijayawada division stations safe, says railway report

Water available to passengers at stations in the Vijayawada railway division is completely safe to drink, according to a quality-testing report by South Central Railway officials. Of 633 samples collected across 99 stations, none showed traces of harmful bacteria. In 9,571 chlorination tests at 83 stations, 9,565 met prescribed standards, a pass rate of 99.93%. Minor deviations at six locations were corrected immediately. Vijayawada Junction underwent 127 bacteria and 1,249 chlorine tests.

Man kills wife over her plan to return to Kuwait for work

Yashoda, 38, was beaten to death with a stick by her husband Ramana at Marella in KV Palli mandal of Annamayya district. The couple, married 22 years ago, have two children. Yashoda had gone to Kuwait for work three years ago and returned to her village a month ago, and was trying to go back. Police suspect Ramana, who opposed the move and doubted her conduct, hit her on the head while she slept. He surrendered at the police station and was arrested.
