Police solved a series of house burglary cases in Luthergiri Colony, under Pedakakani police station limits, within 24 hours. On the SP's orders and under the supervision of the North DSP, the CI, SIs and staff analysed CCTV footage and technical evidence and arrested Kurapati Santosh Kumar and Kurapati Sarita. Gold and silver jewellery stolen in three cases was recovered. The investigation found the accused first stole house keys and used them to enter homes when nobody was inside.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday performed bhoomi puja at Burripalem in Guntur district's Tenali constituency for construction of 3 lakh houses statewide under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. Under a pilot project of the Union Rural Development Ministry and the AP government, 175 houses — 100 at Burripalem and 75 at Obulanayudupalem — will be built with 3D concrete printing. Designs withstand earthquakes, extreme temperatures and cyclones. Another 4.20 lakh houses are targeted by March.

A private e-bus was gutted by fire at Pedakakani Y Junction in Guntur district early on Sunday. The bus had left Tirupati for Vijayawada and was proceeding onward after dropping passengers at Guntur when smoke began emerging from the engine. The alert driver stopped the vehicle on the roadside and brought the passengers out. Fire personnel reached the spot and doused the flames, but the bus was already completely burnt. Fourteen passengers were on board; no lives were lost.

Cyber fraudsters promising profits in online trading made a Mangalagiri resident transfer lakhs of rupees in instalments to accounts they specified. When he was told to deposit more money to withdraw the shown profits, he realised the fraud and complained immediately. Police froze the accounts and recovered 25% of the amount. The receiving account belonged to a laundry worker in Karnataka whose details a person from Odisha obtained for a payment. Police advised complaints to 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.
About 35,147 students from nearly 170 government and private schools joined the 'Swachh Pathasala' programme held by the Mangalagiri–Tadepalli Municipal Corporation under the Union government's 'Swachhata Hi Seva–2026'. Officials said students brought dry waste from their homes to collection points at schools, yielding around 50,000 kg. Minister Nara Lokesh said he had reached his present position because of the sacrifices and hardships of TDP leaders and workers. He spoke at the concluding session held after the oath-taking of the party's new national and state executive bodies at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri. Residents of Putlagudem village in Achampet mandal of Guntur district caught buffalo thieves on Wednesday and handed them to police. On Tuesday night, villagers who saw four buffaloes being moved in a mini-lorry chased the vehicle and stopped it at Challagariga. About 15 buffaloes went missing from Putlagudem in two months, and over 70 were stolen in villages around Achampet. Maramela Prasadarao, Marturi Narasimhaswamy and Chitteti Jansi filed complaints. Ashrit Talluri, a student from a non-resident Telugu family, scored 1,600 out of 1,600 in the School Assessment Test (SAT) conducted in the United States, taking the exam at the age of 14. His parents, Taruni and Ramanaresh, are from Tenali in Guntur district and moved to the US in 2008, settling in Georgia. State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar on Friday inaugurated a newly set up cath lab and cardiac ICU at Health Hospital on Prakasam Road in Tenali, Guntur district. He said timely treatment is crucial in heart-related cases and that local facilities must be strengthened so patients need not travel elsewhere. He congratulated hospital chairman Dr Nannapaneni Pratap and managing director Manne Harish, adding the cath lab would enable cardiac tests and interventional cardiology services.
