An "Angan Ka Utsav" programme was held at the Municipal Urdu upper primary school in Lonikota, 13th ward of Dharmavaram in Sri Sathya Sai district. Organised on the instructions of Health Minister Satya Kumar, it saw BJP in-charge Harish Babu and Mahila Morcha district president Jagga Nagarathnamma attend as chief guests and felicitate anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHA workers. They said about 9 crore beneficiaries are served through 14 lakh anganwadi centres nationwide, and 1.5 lakh centres are being developed as "Saksham Anganwadi" centres.
A preparatory meeting for the local body elections was held in the Rahmat Puram area of the 23rd ward of Hindupur municipality. Constituency in-charge T N Deepika participated and said workers were the backbone of the party. She called for the YSRCP flag to fly in every panchayat in the coming panchayat elections and asked workers to tell people about the government's unfulfilled promises. Identity cards received from the central office were then distributed to leaders and workers. State minority wing joint secretary Farooq and ward presidents Mansoor, Asif, Shabbir and others attended.
An ATM attached to an IDFC First Bank branch at Parthasarathy Nagar in Dharmavaram, Sri Sathya Sai district, was stolen within 10 minutes. Masked men in caps arrived in a Bolero at 3.32 am Wednesday, opened the shutter, tied a synthetic belt to the machine, pulled it out with the vehicle and left town by 3.42 am. Police found the broken ATM at Hampapuram in Raptadu mandal. Bank official Loknath said Rs 4.70 lakh was inside. SP Satish Kumar formed special teams.

CPM district secretary C. Ramakrishna demanded that all 32 mandals in Sri Sathya Sai district be identified as drought mandals and the district declared drought-hit. He spoke during a drought survey jeep yatra held on Sunday in Puttaparthi, Kothacheruvu, Penukonda, Gorantla and other mandals. Crops were sown on only 2.70 lakh acres against 12 lakh acres, he said, seeking Rs 50,000 per acre compensation, fodder, 200 workdays and Rs 700 daily wage. A dharna at the collectorate was announced for the 30th.
