SBRWA new executive body sworn in at Kapra

The swearing-in of the new executive body of Sri Bhavana Rishi Welfare Association (SBRWA) was held at Konda Laxman Bapuji Park in Padmashali Township, Kapra. Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy attended as chief guest and congratulated newly elected president Deepa Yemula and the executive members. He said the association should work towards community development, service activities and unity, and promised full support to public welfare programmes. Padmashali Society president Seeta Anjaneyulu, BRS leaders Singireddy Soma Shekar Reddy, Sai Jen Shekar, former corporator Pavani Manipal Reddy and Regalla Satish Reddy participated.

Car, oil tanker overturn on NH-65 in Nalgonda; three injured

A road accident occurred on National Highway 65 on the outskirts of Veliminedu in Chityala mandal of Nalgonda district. A car overturned while trying to overtake an oil tanker travelling from Hyderabad towards Vijayawada, and the tanker also overturned in the same sequence. Three passengers travelling in the car sustained minor injuries. With both vehicles lying across the road, a heavy traffic jam formed on the highway. NHAI and police personnel moved the vehicles aside and are regulating traffic.

Police Act in force across Jagtial district for one month

The Police Act will be in force across Jagtial district for one month, from March 1 to March 31, in view of law and order, District SP Ashok Kumar said in a statement. He said no dharnas, rasta rokos, protests, rallies, public meetings or gatherings should be held without permission from police officers. New RTC bus service launched between Vinukonda and Nujendla

Government Chief Whip and Vinukonda MLA GV Anjaneyulu said RTC services are being extended to rural areas so that transport problems do not hinder students' education. He launched a new bus service from Vinukonda to Nujendla, running via Jangalapalli, Madamanchipadu, Tripurapuram, Gollapalem, Obanapalem, Reddipalem and Kammavaripalem. Timings have been set to suit school hours, benefiting students of Nujendla Model School and KGBV. Landslide on Indrakeeladri ghat road; prior closure averted casualties

Boulders and soil slid onto the Indrakeeladri ghat road in Vijayawada on Thursday night after two days of heavy rain. Officials had shut the road three days earlier for repairs ahead of Dasara Sharannavaratri, so there was no loss of life or property. District Collector Dr G. Tiger movement reported in Telangana's Siddipet district

Tiger movement on the outskirts of Kootigal and Bhairanpally in Dulmitta mandal of Siddipet district has caused alarm. Villagers said the tiger attacked and killed calves in Ladhnoor and Ammapur villages of Maddur mandal. Forest department officials reached the spot after being informed and examined the pugmarks. Based on the pugmarks, they concluded the tiger entered Siddipet from Yadadri district. Officials warned residents and farmers of Dulmitta and Maddur mandals to stay alert and avoid going out in the evening. The search continues.

Travels bus overturns in Gadwal district, 10 injured

Ten people were injured when a travels bus overturned after being hit by a lorry on National Highway 44 in Manavapadu mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district at 2 am on Sunday. The Morning Star private travels bus had left Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday night for Hyderabad with 22 passengers. A lorry going from Anantapur to Jammu and Kashmir hit it from behind. Chinna Basava, Vineeta, Naveen Kumar Reddy, Jyothi and Ghazi were seriously injured. Locals shifted the injured to Kurnool government hospital by 108 ambulance.

RTC bus overturns in Annamayya district; 20 passengers injured

Twenty passengers sustained severe injuries when an RTC bus overturned near Vithalam village in Valmikipuram mandal of Annamayya district on Tuesday morning. The bus, from the Madanapalle depot, was travelling to Tirupati on the Madanapalle-Tirupati national highway when a tyre burst and the driver lost control. Locals pulled passengers out. Missing six-year-old found asleep in sorghum field in Nandyal

A six-year-old girl, Pranavi, who went missing while playing outside her home in YSR Nagar, Nandyal, on Sunday, was found safe, asleep in a sorghum field near the colony. Her mother Kalyani called Dial-100 at 9 pm. Under SP Sunil Sheoran's supervision, 200 police personnel, including two ASPs, DSPs, CIs and SIs, searched overnight using drone cameras, sniffer dogs and CCTV footage. Private bus overturns near Singanapalli; five injured

A private travels bus overturned on National Highway 565 near Singanapalli in Marripadu mandal of Nellore district. The bus went out of control after the driver fell asleep, according to the report. Hyderabad Metro to run till 1 am on 25th, 26th for Ganesh immersion

Metro services in Hyderabad have been extended until 1 am on the 25th and 26th of this month for the Ganesh immersion. Officials said the last train will depart from all stations at 1 am. The city's congestion level is 55.5%, with 10 km taking an average 32.7 minutes and 39.5 minutes during evening peak hours. Average vehicle speed is 23 km per hour. Residents lose 123 hours a year to traffic and, per Climate Central, 75 hours of sleep — about 198 hours in all.
