New Karimnagar collectorate building ready for inauguration

The new collectorate building in Karimnagar has been readied for inauguration, with the event to be performed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, according to the Surya correspondent. The building has been decorated with flower garlands, marigolds and electric lights, and arrangements are complete for unveiling a Telangana Talli statue in front of it. District Collector Chitra Mishra personally supervised the stage, decoration, security, parking and protocol arrangements until night. The building has modern facilities.

Five base camps have been set up in the Papikondalu sanctuary with 25 personnel deployed for forest and wildlife protection. Spread over 1,012.86 sq km across the two Godavari districts and erstwhile Khammam district, the 1,01,200-hectare forest was declared a national park by the Centre in 2008. Officials said smuggling has fallen due to day-and-night patrolling with sticks and knives. Staff, hired through outsourcing agencies, get Rs 10,000 a month including food costs.

Magnitude 3.8 earthquake recorded in Bhadradri Kothagudem district

Tremors were recorded in Telangana's Bhadradri Kothagudem district, with mild shaking felt in Kothagudem, Bhadrachalam, Burgampahad and Palvancha. The tremors occurred at 2.26 am, after midnight on Saturday. Officials said the magnitude was measured at 3.8 on the Richter scale. As the shaking came in the middle of the night, residents were alarmed and ran out of their homes. No loss of life or damage to property was reported due to the earthquake.

One stretch of one kilometre from the SP office to the ISKCON temple costs Rs 32 lakh, while a 460-metre road from Mudunuri China Subbaraju field to the existing CC road costs Rs 16 lakh. Priority will go to BT, CC roads and gokulams under Palle Pandaga 3.0.

Chandrababu to hand over house site titles to 24,042 on Sept 30

Poor families who built houses decades ago in NTR and Krishna districts will receive land titles from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on September 30. At Makineni Basavapunnaiah Stadium in Vijayawada's Ajit Singh Nagar, 24,042 beneficiaries will get rights over 616.53 acres valued at Rs 9,798 crore, with market value above Rs 24,497 crore. Beneficiaries include 12,084 BCs, 6,124 OCs, 4,546 SCs, 955 Muslims and 333 STs. Under GO 306, 12,710 get permanent titles; 11,332 are regularised under GO 30.

Refrigerator explodes in Sanathnagar house, belongings destroyed

A refrigerator exploded and triggered a fire at a house in Rajarajeswari Nagar, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad. The blast occurred on Thursday morning at the house of Satyanarayana, and flames spread at once, completely destroying all household belongings. HYDRAA fire services staff reached the spot on receiving information and doused the flames. Nobody was at home at the time, and a bigger mishap was averted.
