Hyderabad added 48,000 technology jobs in the first half of this year and led Indian cities in office space leasing, according to an industry body. Most of the demand came from the IT and Investment Region around Gachibowli and the Financial District. The state IT minister said global capability centres continue to expand and announced a skilling tie-up with 30 engineering colleges to supply talent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has announced a night-time electric bus service linking Uppal, LB Nagar and Dilsukhnagar with the IT corridor at Gachibowli and HITEC City. Forty electric buses will run between 10 pm and 4 am at 20-minute intervals from October 2, intended for night-shift IT workers. Fares are capped at Rs 60 for the full route and a monthly pass costs Rs 1,200. The corporation expects about 15,000 riders a day.
