Cath lab, cardiac ICU inaugurated at Tenali Health Hospital

State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar on Friday inaugurated a newly set up cath lab and cardiac ICU at Health Hospital on Prakasam Road in Tenali, Guntur district. He said timely treatment is crucial in heart-related cases and that local facilities must be strengthened so patients need not travel elsewhere. He congratulated hospital chairman Dr Nannapaneni Pratap and managing director Manne Harish, adding the cath lab would enable cardiac tests and interventional cardiology services.

Ten Thalli Bidda Express vehicles reach West Godavari district

Thalli Bidda Express vehicles, meant to take mothers who deliver in government hospitals and their newborns home safely, have reached the district. The state medical and health minister flagged off 300 vehicles at Narasaraopet on Tuesday. Of the 14 allotted to the district, ten have arrived. They have six airbags, footrests, GPS tracking and an SOS button. The existing 14 vehicles are run by Aurobindo, while the new ones will be managed by Vidyaveda Foundation. MLA Arimilli Radhakrishna launched five vehicles at Tanuku.

Everyone should practise yoga daily: Additional Collector N. Ravi

Hanamkonda district Additional Collector and tourism nodal officer N. Ravi said everyone should practise yoga for its health benefits. The district tourism department organised a yoga programme on Friday in the Collectorate premises to mark World Tourism Day on the 27th of this month. Attending as chief guest, Ravi performed yoga with officials, yoga practitioners and students. He said daily practice keeps people healthy and helps reduce stress in modern lifestyles. Tourism officer Shivaji, NSS coordinator Srinivas and AYUSH and other department officials participated.

Breastfeeding Week observed at Kalva Srirampur anganwadi centre

Breastfeeding Week events were held Monday at the 1st anganwadi centre in Kalva Srirampur, Peddapalli district, led by anganwadi teacher Hajira. Sarpanch Bangari Ramesh and Upa-Sarpanch Goli Sudhakar conducted annaprasana and aksharabhyasam for children. An awareness session was organised for pregnant and nursing women. The sarpanch said colostrum acts as a baby's first vaccine and advised exclusive breastfeeding for six months. He said balanced meals, milk and eggs are supplied under the Arogya Lakshmi scheme.

Drinking water at Kazipet, Warangal stations safe, says railway

South Central Railway said drinking water samples collected from Kazipet and Warangal railway stations and railway colonies between the 9th and 15th of this month were found clean and safe in all lab tests. A total of 225 samples were tested — 149 from Kazipet and 76 from Warangal. Officials said no traces of E-coli bacteria were found. Principal Chief Medical Director Dr Nirmala Rajaram inspected the arrangements and confirmed chlorine levels were adequate. General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava directed officials to maintain quality.

Tirupati Collector reviews Pulse Polio arrangements in district

Tirupati District Collector Dr S. Venkateswar directed officials to make the National Pulse Polio programme, to be held on the 28th, 29th and 30th of this month, a success in the district. Chairing a district task force committee meeting at the collectorate on Tuesday, he reviewed booths, staffing, vaccine stocks and transport. District Medical and Health Officer Dr Balakrishna Naik said 1,937 polio centres, 84 mobile and 57 transit centres have been set up, targeting 2,59,843 children under five.
