Illicit liquor units persist in Mahabubabad; 1,275 cases this year
Illicit liquor (gudumba) brewing continues in rural areas of Mahabubabad district, Eenadu reported. At Rekhyathanda in Maripeda mandal, police destroyed 500 litres of jaggery wash, seized 20 litres of country liquor and booked four persons. On September 29, 2,000 litres of jaggery wash and 40 litres of gudumba were seized in Narsimhulapet mandal. Excise officials recovered 325 kg of black jaggery from a Peddavangara grocery. Across Mahabubabad, Thorrur and Gudur SHO limits, 1,275 cases and 1,182 arrests were recorded this year.
