Amazon Now expands to over 120 cities before festive season
Amazon has expanded its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, to more than 120 cities in India, doubling its footprint in two weeks, the company said in a statement on Friday. The service is available in cities including Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ambala, Mangalore, Visakhapatnam, Kochi and Bhubaneswar. Orders are fulfilled through nearly 800 micro-fulfilment and urban fulfilment centres. Amazon said in September the unit crossed USD 1 billion in annualised gross sales, and plans to reach over 300 cities.
