Gunasekhar says producers mocked heroine-oriented 'Rudhramadevi' idea
Director Gunasekhar, in an interview, spoke about the challenges behind his big-budget film 'Rudhramadevi'. He said he conceived the story while working as an assistant director, and that after the blockbuster 'Okkadu' he was offered remuneration no other South Indian director had received. Producers mocked the heroine-oriented subject and asked him to make a large-budget film with a star hero instead. He added that after the hit 'Sogasu Chooda Tharama', producers called 'Bala Ramayanam' risky, but that film led to 'Choodalani Vundi' with Chiranjeevi.
