Russian citizenship complicates return of three Telangana men
Russian passports and military service contracts have become a hurdle in efforts to repatriate three Telangana men whose families say they went to Russia for civilian jobs. Documents relating to Sirushu Ashok, Megavath Prakash and Mohammed Afzal Khan indicate they acquired Russian citizenship, with at least two reportedly signing one-year defence ministry contracts. External affairs ministry sources said citizenship could complicate diplomatic intervention. The families allege the men did not fully understand the papers they signed.
