Harish Rao, Talasani offer prayers at Khairatabad Maha Ganapathi

Former ministers Harish Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited the Panchamukha Sankatahara Maha Ganapathi at Khairatabad on Thursday and performed special prayers. Harish Rao said the Khairatabad Ganesh is renowned worldwide and, along with Charminar and Golconda, is key to Hyderabad's brand image. He called the installation of the 69-foot clay idol significant and noted the 125-foot Ambedkar statue installed by KCR during BRS rule. He urged coordination during immersion to prevent a repeat of the Patancheru incident.

Skywalk approved from LB Nagar metro station to Vasavi township

Statutory approvals and a traffic police NOC have been received for a skywalk linking LB Nagar metro station to the Vasavi Ananda Nilayam gated community, being built with 3,576 flats, Vasavi Group CMD Yerram Vijay Kumar said in a statement on Wednesday. Designed by IIT Hyderabad, the Rs 15 crore project must be completed in six months under an agreement with L&T Hyderabad Metro. Vasavi Avenues LLP and SR Infra and Developers will build it, with 10 main pillars alongside NH-65, plus ramp, lift and stairs.

A mass annadanam was organised on Wednesday at the Ganapathi mandapam set up for Vinayaka Navaratri celebrations at Karepalli Cross Road (Ramalingapuram) in Singareni mandal of Khammam district. GHMC to begin Rs 12 crore Kukatpally water pipeline work Monday

GHMC officials said Saturday that new drinking water pipeline works in Kukatpally division will begin Monday. A 14-kilometre pipeline will be laid at a cost of Rs 12 crore. Officials said the works would be completed in 90 days, and that one lane on Musapet Road would be closed from 10 am to 5 pm during this period. They said nearly 40,000 families would get improved water supply.

GHMC to begin night garbage collection in Kukatpally, Miyapur

Hyderabad to get 172 MGD more water from December
