Of 5,501 provisional allottees selected by lottery, 3,271 (59.46%) have paid. Kukatpally leads with 81.05% and Khairatabad is lowest at 17.16%. Vice-chairman V.P. Gautham said allotments will be cancelled after the deadline. About 35,000 applicants are waitlisted.
A 4.3-km, six-lane elevated corridor will be built from Jubilee Hills checkpost to the NFCL junction, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan said. Once complete, traffic will move without signal stops at five major junctions. Karnan said H-City works around KBR Park have been cancelled and the one-way system around the park will be made permanent. Executed under EPC in two packages of Rs 580 crore and Rs 510 crore, the project costs Rs 1,090 crore. Officials estimate savings of Rs 1,200 crore.

Member Gurram Badarinath donated Rs 3,000 for distributing pulihora to devotees at the Perala Shivalayam on his birthday. A mishap was averted on a main road at Tatipaka in Rajole mandal of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Monday. A wheel of a 10-tyre milk lorry travelling from Tatipaka towards Mamidikuduru came off while the vehicle was in motion and struck two two-wheelers parked beside the road, damaging them badly. Residents said no lives were lost as motorists and bystanders moved aside in time. They sought regular fitness checks on heavy vehicles.
Early Bathukamma celebrations were held at Sri Raja Rajeswara Sanskrit School in Vemulawada. Temple Executive Officer L. Ramadevi attended as chief guest and played Bathukamma with students and teachers. Girl students arranged Bathukammas with flowers and sang traditional songs, while boys performed kolatam and dandiya. Ramadevi said Bathukamma symbolises Telangana culture and reflects people's bond with nature. She later carried the Bathukamma on her head for immersion. Supervisors Venkatalakshmi, Pujitha, the principal and teachers participated.
Nalgonda district SP Sharath Chandra Pawar received petitions from 53 people who came from various villages to the 'Grievance Day' held at the district police office on Monday. He directed officers to inquire thoroughly at the field level into complaints relating to land disputes, family feuds and financial frauds, and resolve them quickly as per law. He asked officials to respond immediately and deliver impartial justice, adding that delays would not be tolerated and case progress would be monitored continuously.
Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi on Monday received a cheque for Rs 32 lakh in CSR funds from Deepak NexGen, led by its MD A.V. Subrahmanyam, at the Godavari meeting hall of the district collectorate. The funds will support the smart kitchen programme under the Dokka Seethamma midday meal scheme being implemented at Denduluru. The Collector said priority would go to infrastructure, modern technology, hygiene and food quality, and urged more corporate firms to come forward.
A new Jana Vignana Vedika district committee for Mahabubabad was elected unanimously for 2026-28 at the organisation's 6th district conference. Chirra Yakanthagoud was elected district president, Agurti Suresh general secretary, Gade Naveen Chekimukhi convener and Uppala Srinivasulu treasurer. Speaking at Kesamudram on Monday, Yakanthagoud said the body's main aim is to remove superstition and build scientific temper. He said science exhibitions and awareness programmes would be held in schools and colleges, and fake medicine and social media misinformation countered with scientific evidence.
The Telangana Housing Board has said Indiramma Towers beneficiaries in Hyderabad holding provisional allotment letters must pay the first instalment of Rs 1 lakh by October 9, failing which the allotment may be cancelled. In the first phase, 7,680 flats are planned across 16 assembly constituencies and letters were issued to 5,501 families; so far 3,271 (59.46%) have paid. Vice Chairman VP Gautam ruled out any extension. Unpaid flats go to waiting-list applicants.
The funeral procession of Dr Prabhakar Naidu, a noted physician and former municipal chairman, was held on Monday in Kavali town of Nellore district. Kavali MLA Kavya Krishna Reddy took part and personally helped carry the bier. MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, MLC Beeda Ravichandra, former minister Ramesh Reddy, former MLA Kambham Vijayarami Reddy and NUDA chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy paid tributes. The procession went from his Rammurthypet residence to Balakrishna Nagar cremation ground. Thousands attended.
Peripaka Deepak assumed charge on Monday as district registrar of Stamps and Registrations in Mahabubnagar. He took up the responsibilities at the district registrar office, where sub-registrars and staff welcomed him and offered congratulations. He was appointed in place of D. Phanindar, the earlier district registrar, who moved out on transfer. Deepak said transparent services would be provided in the registration department and steps taken so that people face no difficulties. He added that focus would be on records management and faster services.
Jagtial District Collector B. Satya Prasad has directed officials to conduct a thorough inquiry into complaints and petitions received through Prajavani and resolve them promptly. He received grievances from the public at the programme held on Monday at the collectorate auditorium. A total of 67 complaints and petitions were received. He asked officials not to keep applications pending, to settle them within the stipulated time and inform applicants. Additional Collector B. Raja Goud, DRO K. Y. Prasad and RDOs Jeevakar Reddy and Narasimha Rao attended.
A private e-bus was gutted by fire at Pedakakani Y Junction in Guntur district early on Sunday. The bus had left Tirupati for Vijayawada and was proceeding onward after dropping passengers at Guntur when smoke began emerging from the engine. The alert driver stopped the vehicle on the roadside and brought the passengers out. Fire personnel reached the spot and doused the flames, but the bus was already completely burnt. Fourteen passengers were on board; no lives were lost.
Former Palair MLA Kandala Upender Reddy on Sunday visited agricultural labourers from Kamanchikal village in Khammam Rural mandal who were injured in a road accident two days earlier. He went house to house to meet those being treated at home, enquired about their health and handed over financial assistance. He also met victims undergoing treatment at the Khammam government hospital and asked health staff to provide better care. He paid tributes at the home of Donthusarapu Bharatamma, who died in the accident, and gave her family financial help, assuring BRS support.
Giravena Shyam of Korapalli village in Jammikunta mandal of Karimnagar district was seriously injured in a road accident near FCI in Jammikunta town and died recently while undergoing hospital treatment. PMK Foundation founder Palle Prabhakar Goud conveyed condolences to the family. On his instructions, foundation organisers handed over Rs 10,000 in financial aid to the deceased's family at Korapalli. They said they would continue to support the family. Palle Ravi Goud, Mogu Debba Goudu and association president Ranjit Goud participated.
Markapuram district SP Pankaj Kumar Meena, IPS, directed police officers to work with advance planning to conduct the coming elections peacefully and transparently. He reviewed election security measures at the district police headquarters on Sunday. He asked officers to identify villages and polling stations where clashes occurred in past elections and place them under special surveillance, and to keep rowdy-sheeters and offenders under watch within the law. Patrolling in sensitive areas must be stepped up. DSPs Nimmagadda Satyanarayana and Sridhar, CIs and SIs attended.
Kadapa district principal judge R Ram Gopal visited the Rayachoti court complex at 11 am on Sunday to examine a proposal to demolish the old court buildings and construct new ones at the same site. He said the buildings were not dilapidated enough for demolition and that minor repairs could keep three courts functioning there for another 20 years. He asked the Roads and Buildings Department DE who had certified the building unusable, and advised lawyers to submit a representation with full details.
A fire broke out on Sunday in Unit-3 of the under-construction Yadadri Ultra Mega Thermal Power Station at Damaracherla in Nalgonda district. Officials preliminarily assessed that a lubrication oil leak in the turbine-driven boiler feed pump area caused the blaze. Control cables and some key valves were burnt. Plant staff and on-site firefighting equipment brought the fire under control. Boilers and main turbines were undamaged and no one was injured. Telangana Genco officials inspected the site and ordered an internal inquiry.
Uppal MLA Bandari Laxma Reddy laid foundation stones for development works worth about Rs 1 crore in the Nacharam and HMT Nagar divisions. Allocations include Rs 9 lakh for underground drainage in Sainagar Colony, Rs 13 lakh for a drinking water pipeline in Sri Raghavendranagar, Rs 33.8 lakh for a CC road in Koundinyanagar, Rs 47.8 lakh for remaining CC roads in Bhavaninagar and about Rs 20 lakh for a CC road behind Shiva Nursing Home in Raghavendranagar. The MLA said infrastructure is being taken up in phases.
The Association of Integrity Christian Council (AICC) has appointed Reverend Kakarla Rajendra Prasad (Pandanna) of Tanuku as its West Godavari district president and Kreestudasu as district secretary. They received appointment letters from international president Gerahanoku at the AICC national-level core committee meeting held in Vijayawada on Wednesday. Representatives from all districts in the state attended and shared views on issues facing Christians. Pandanna said AICC would support Christians facing difficulties in the district and form committees in every mandal.
