Omani co-pilot says he joined flydubai to attack Tel Aviv
Investigators say Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami, 29, who tried to crash a flydubai aircraft on 30 September, planned the attack before joining the airline. He reportedly told interrogators he researched carriers flying to Tel Aviv and sought such a job, aiming to hit Ben Gurion Airport or city skyscrapers. On Flight 1073 he attacked Captain Smit Machchhar with a crash axe; the plane dropped 16,000 feet. Crew and passengers among 174 aboard restrained him.
