Nine restaurant licences suspended in Telangana over hygiene violations
The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs suspended the FSSAI licences of nine restaurants in Medak, Kamareddy and Nizamabad districts after inspections uncovered food safety and hygiene violations. Ten teams inspected 20 restaurants across the three districts on Tuesday (October 6). Officials reported houseflies, cockroaches, rodents, rat faeces, expired food articles and unhygienic kitchens. They lifted 21 food samples on suspicion of adulteration. Five establishments will get improvement notices and six will receive showcause notices.
