FIR against Meta India head over AI-morphed Modi videos
Hyderabad cybercrime police have registered an FIR against Meta India head Arun Srinivas and some social media users over AI-generated morphed videos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi circulating online. Police sources said the videos spread widely on Facebook and Instagram. Officers are investigating alleged violations of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act. The FIR followed summons issued days earlier; a Meta representative appeared before investigators and explained the company's content moderation measures. Police said the investigation is at a preliminary stage.
