Nellore BPCL refinery project recommended for environmental clearance
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited's (BPCL) proposed greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh has received environmental and coastal regulatory zone (CRZ) clearances. The Expert Appraisal Committee under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) recommended the clearances for the project worth Rs 1.03 trillion, paving the way for construction work to begin. Spread over 5,200 acres, the facility will have 9 million tonnes per annum capacity, including 5.4 million tonnes of transportation fuels such as petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel.
