Chinese firecrackers worth Rs 12 crore seized at Chennai Port
Officials have seized a large consignment of firecrackers at Chennai Port. The Hyderabad zonal unit of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and intelligence officials carried out a joint operation and took possession of Chinese firecrackers valued at Rs 12 crore. Officials found that the goods were being imported illegally from China declared as stationery, medical gloves, plastic clips and wardrobes. Traders brought in the consignment using false declarations. The accused have been detained and are being questioned.
