Cyclone may form next week; yellow alert in three AP districts
The India Meteorological Department said moderate to heavy rain is likely in several parts of Andhra Pradesh, with thunderstorms and winds of 40-50 kmph. The Visakhapatnam weather office estimated that a cyclonic circulation may form over the Bay of Bengal on October 12, turn into a low-pressure area on October 13 and gradually intensify into a cyclone. APSDMA said rain is likely today in Krishna, Annamayya, Chittoor, Kadapa and Sri Sathya Sai districts, and issued a yellow alert for Prakasam, Nellore and Anantapur.
