India's economy robust, says Tata Sons chairman Chandrasekaran

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Monday that India's economy is robust in an uncertain and difficult world, with multiple indicators showing the country in a stable and strong place. Speaking at the IFQM Symposium 2026, he said energy security, advanced manufacturing jobs and investments in human capital are critical for long-term growth. He cited strong domestic demand, services exports, a current account deficit below one per cent of GDP and low bank NPAs, and urged a shift from assembly-led growth to end-to-end domestic capability.
