India must open economy further to meet 2047 goal: Bilimoria
India must open its economy further and build deeper research, development and innovation partnerships to become a developed economy by 2047, said Lord Karan Bilimoria, Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce UK. He said per-capita GDP, now around $3,000, must grow tenfold to $30,000 in 20 years. He cited scope for UK cooperation in AI, fintech, education and defence, and expects bilateral trade to exceed $100 billion within five years of the free trade agreement, from $65 billion now.
