Tension in Vijayawada West constituency amid rival party programmes
Tension prevailed in Vijayawada West constituency, Sakshi reported. Former minister Vellampalli Srinivas began a door-to-door tour under a programme titled 'ready for the local fight, war on public issues'. The YSRCP is going house to house, highlighting what it calls the alliance government's failures and aiming to resolve public grievances. TDP and Jana Sena took up counter-programmes to block the YSRCP activity, with their cadres gathering in large numbers in areas Vellampalli toured. The programme continued amid police security.
