Phone brands stretch EMI tenures to 30 months this festive season

Samsung, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Oppo and Nothing have extended EMI tenures to as long as 30 months this festive season, six to eight months more than usual, bearing the financing cost themselves to revive demand. Industry estimates show smartphone sales fell more than 12% between January and September as prices rose 30-35% on average. Consumer finance's share of smartphone sales has risen to 42-43% from about 35% last year, Counterpoint Research said.
