Telangana ERC allows Rs 5,420 crore true-up charge collection
The Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission on Monday permitted discoms to collect Rs 5,420.23 crore in true-up charges from electricity consumers. The discoms had filed petitions on November 10, 2025 seeking Rs 7,635.22 crore; the commission said Rs 2,214.99 crore relating to agriculture must be sought from the state government. Consumers will pay an extra 30 paise per unit in November bills and 50 paise per unit from December. Collection will run 29 months in the Southern discom and 26 months in the Northern discom.
