Rights groups say Iran executes two more Isfahan protesters

Human rights organizations said Iran executed two more defendants in the Alikhani Square case, Alireza Sepahi and Alireza Raisi, early on October 5 at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. Both were arrested during the January 2026 protests. The case stems from the deaths of four members of Iran's security forces on January 8 in Isfahan. Five defendants in the case had already been executed. Amnesty International says Iran executed at least 2,159 people in 2025.
