Sircilla eye surgery row: Rights panel seeks report from DM&HO
The Telangana Human Rights Commission took suo motu cognizance on October 6 of an alleged 'wrong' eye surgery at Krishna Sindhura Eye Centre in Sircilla and sought a detailed report from the Rajanna Sircilla DM&HO. A video on social media alleged that Kommu Venkamma was operated on her right eye instead of the planned left eye. The centre, under L V Prasad Eye Institute, disputed the allegation, saying a denser corneal scar seen under the operating microscope made the right eye the priority and denied negligence.
