India-US trade talks have reached a plateau, says Sitharaman
Negotiations on the proposed India-US bilateral trade agreement appear to have reached a plateau, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday. Speaking at the Munich Leaders Meeting in New Delhi, she said talks were still underway but both sides had reached a stage where further concessions could prove difficult. Negotiations began in February 2025, and an interim framework was released in February 2026. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the agreement was "not imminent".
