Rain brings relief to Annamayya; seasonal deficit at 51%
Rain lashed Annamayya district from Monday night till the early hours of Tuesday (October 6, 2026), with 25 mandals recording an average of about 41 mm in a single day. The district averaged 41.4 mm from October 1 to 6 against a normal of 46.3 mm. Valmikipuram recorded the highest October total at 98.2 mm. Officials said the district received 209.7 mm from June 1 to end-September against a normal of 427.7 mm, a 51% deficit.
