Omar Abdullah government faces criticism over unfulfilled manifesto promises
Analysts and opposition leaders have criticised Omar Abdullah's nearly two-year term as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister. Sworn in for a second term on October 16, 2024, he has described governing under a "dual" model in which the Lieutenant Governor holds decisive powers. The JKNC's 2024 manifesto listed 12 guarantees, including 1,00,000 jobs, 200 units of free electricity, and restoration of Articles 370 and 35A and statehood. The party says it has three more years to deliver.
