INDIA bloc protests at EC office; Rahul Gandhi briefly detained
Opposition MPs led by Rahul Gandhi marched from Parliament to the Election Commission headquarters on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Police stopped the march near the NITI Aayog office and detained Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others, releasing them later. Congress, TMC, SP, NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT), the Left and RJD took part. Demands include scrapping the SIR order and restoring ballot papers. The EC and BJP rejected the allegations.
