Bhatti lays stone for community kitchen in Suryapet district
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday laid the foundation for a modern community kitchen at Munagala in Suryapet district. Singareni Collieries is contributing Rs 9.60 crore. The centralised kitchen will serve daily breakfast, with milk and ragi porridge, to nearly 60,000 students in 1,029 government schools and junior colleges in the district. Bhatti said welfare schemes were investments in poor families, not freebies, and the Indiramma Bheema scheme would be launched on Indira Gandhi Jayanthi.
