120 rice millers default on Rs 638 crore dues in Karimnagar region
Officials have identified 120 rice millers as defaulters across the erstwhile Karimnagar district for all seasons from 2022 to 2024, with Rs 638 crore to be recovered. Dues include Rs 180 crore from 40 mills in Karimnagar, Rs 220 crore from 30 mills in Jagtial and Rs 238 crore from 38 mills in Peddapalli. As millers did not respond to repeated notices, officers are moving to attach properties. Vigilance officers found paddy worth Rs 132 crore missing at three Jagtial mills.
