IMD forecasts heavy rain in south, thunderstorms over Delhi
Rain and thunderstorms are likely across several parts of India on Tuesday, October 6, the India Meteorological Department said. Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are forecast over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab. The IMD said the southwest monsoon withdrawal line extended across parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra on October 5.
