Jagtial man still in Dubai jail; family seeks government help
Aegurla Mallesham of Mothukuraopet in Jagtial district is reportedly still in a Dubai jail despite completing a six-month term, as he cannot pay a fine of AED 1,50,000 (about ₹39 lakh) imposed by a local court. He went to Muscat, Oman, in 2018, later entered the UAE without a passport or visa and was apprehended on March 8. His wife Latha and mother Buchavva petitioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Mandha Bheem Reddy said legal experts are being consulted on a fine waiver or pardon.
