Herd of eight elephants damages maize crop in Parvathipuram Manyam
A herd of eight elephants was spotted roaming maize fields on the outskirts of Yerra Samantha village in Makkuva mandal of Parvathipuram Manyam district on Tuesday evening. The elephants entered agricultural fields and damaged the maize crop, leaving farmers worried about the loss of their produce. Farmers expressed anguish over the damage and said repeated elephant movement in the area has become a major concern. They urged forest officials to take immediate measures to keep elephants out of fields and protect crops.
