Pregnant woman carried 7 km in doli in Alluri district
A full-term pregnant woman from Thadakapalli in Alluri Sitharama Raju district was carried about 7 km in a doli by her family along a rocky path because no road was available. The family had to arrange the doli after she went into sudden labour and needed to reach hospital. Local tribal residents say 108 ambulances cannot reach the area in emergencies, and that pregnant women, infants and the elderly risk dying en route. They have asked the state government for a permanent solution on roads and transport.
