Kakani demands drought mandal declaration in Nellore district
YSRCP Nellore district president and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that none of the district's 35 rural mandals has been declared drought-hit despite El Nino-driven distress among farmers. He submitted a petition to the District Collector along with MLC Parvatha Chandrasekhar Reddy and Anam Vijay Kumar. He said 93 TMC was available in Somasila and Kandaleru, yet the 5.20 lakh-acre first crop got no water. The Collector assured proposals would be sent, he said.
