Allegations of irregularities in Indiramma house selection

Hanamkonda ·

Allegations have surfaced over the selection of second-phase Indiramma house beneficiaries in Hanamkonda district. Critics say lists in some villages were prepared and sent to MPDOs without informing village Indiramma committees headed by sarpanches, with officials and some ruling-party leaders influencing the choices. Residents fear ineligible people may get houses instead of the poor. Gazetted officers are now verifying the lists at field level. The second phase sanctions 2,000 houses per constituency, of which 1,500 are to prioritise hut dwellers and 500 tin-shed residents receive Rs 2 lakh each for slab roofing.
