Gujarat hospital superintendent arrested for Rs 40,000 bribe from students
Gujarat's Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested Dr Rahim Ibrahim Memon, 59, Medical Superintendent (Class-1) of J S Chauhan Civil Hospital in Devgadh Baria, Dahod. The ACB said he demanded Rs 40,000 in total, at Rs 5,000 per student, from eight medical students posted at the hospital under the District Residency Programme, in exchange for favourable duties and for not harassing them. The case surfaced after a student who refused to pay approached the Gandhinagar ACB. He was caught accepting the money at his government quarters. Investigation is underway.
