Odisha to hold campus polls on October 15 after eight years
The Odisha government on Monday announced the return of students' union elections in degree colleges and universities after an eight-year gap. A higher education department notification said polls will be held in all colleges on October 15. Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced the decision after meeting Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Officials said the process will be completed within 10 days to prevent campus violence. ABVP, BCJD and NSUI have stepped up activities. Polls were last held in 2017.
