ED to probe planned Messi visit to Kerala
The Enforcement Directorate will soon register a case into alleged financial irregularities in the failed plan to bring footballer Lionel Messi and the Argentina team to Kerala. It is likely to treat the FIR registered by Kalamassery Police on Sept 15 as the predicate offence. The FIR names Reporter TV promoters Anto Augustine and Reporter Broadcasting Company as accused, alleging false details in a Dec 20, 2024 agreement with the Argentine Football Association and exemption from a Rs 5-crore security deposit for the Kochi stadium.
