Bihar court convicts Rohtas SP for contempt, imposes Re 1 fine
The 4th Additional Sessions Judge at Sasaram, Anil Kumar, convicted Rohtas Superintendent of Police Raushan Kumar under Section 384 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for wilfully disobeying court directions, imposing a nominal fine of Re 1. A notional fine of Rs 1 was also imposed on the District Magistrate for defending an "apparent dishonest officer". Saying the training of IAS and IPS officers must be attuned to the democratic set-up, the judge directed that a copy of the order be sent to the Union Ministry of Personnel and Training.
