Power demand up 70% in erstwhile Warangal, farmers report cuts
Electricity consumption in the erstwhile Warangal district rose 70.23 per cent on October 3 compared with the same day last year, with TGNPDCL recording 99.45 million units against 58.42mu. The rise is attributed to the El Nino effect, higher temperatures and more domestic, commercial and farm use. Farmers of four villages protested in Wazeedu mandal, Mulugu district, saying night-time farm supply was stopped and daytime cuts lasted up to four hours.
