India, Switzerland sign pacts on transport technology, infrastructure

India and Switzerland signed several agreements to expand cooperation in transport technologies, mobility systems and infrastructure. A letter of intent was signed between the Department of Science and Technology and the Swiss National Science Foundation. The pacts followed bilateral talks in New Delhi between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Swiss President Guy Parmelin. Modi said India aims to attract USD 100 billion in investment and create one million direct jobs in 15 years under the India-EFTA trade agreement. Both sides also agreed on defence production and nuclear energy cooperation.
